A Friday Finish - Daisy Cottage Patchwork

It is so nice to have a finished quilt this week and one to cross off the WIP list!!
You can read about how this pattern evolved HERE.

pink and brown and yellow modern patchwork quilt

The front, back and stripey binding. Following this post is a mini tutorial on how to match up the stripe when sewing the binding together (or click here).
The quilting is stitched diagonally in both directions, or cross-hatching. I pieced the back because I didn't have enough of the pink and brown print, but I have decided that I love pieced backs and will probably always piece them from now on.  It's like a little "something extra" when you turn the quilt over.

The binding is machine stitched for durability.
Quilt Stats:

Finished size 64" x 50"
Fabrics: Daisy Cottage, Lee Holt of Bee in my Bonnet; Tea for Two, Whistler Studios; blue spots, Kaffe Fassett, Casey Scroll, Jennifer Paganelli, brown on front, pink and brown on back (this fabric is out of print); Kona cotton, Snow; Eliza stripe, Jennifer Paganelli, in brown (binding). The yellow dots are from my stash.
Batting: warm and white 100% cotton
pieced and stitched with Aurifil thread 50wt., white

This quilt was a joy to make. I loved using the fresh colors and was happy to use an old favorite fabric in the Casey Scroll print.
